In one of David Pogue's recent posts (that I totally agree with) he mentions:
Apple iPhone owners don't hear these instructions--Apple insisted that AT&T remove them.

Unfortunately both my wife and I have these stupid instructions after our customized voicemail greetings. Does anyone know how to turn them off?

This is one thing I miss about Sprint, I could simply have it beep after my personalized message.

Oh interesting read, and the previous article. I guess there is not way to turn them off for AT&T, we can only bypass them, which requires us to 'show keyboard' and press 1,*, or #. I'll have to see if that actually is faster.
