When the Macbook Air came out last year, Apple offered no product that remotely resembled it. They took the best parts of the pro i.e. the aluminum shell, slimmed it down and gave us solid specs for a fairly ultra portable computer. Now upon the release of the new Macbook and Macbook Pro, there seems to be a striking resemblance between their upper and lower end computers with their niche market computer. All three have the option for SSD, the other two offer advanced graphic cards, the macbook air now weighs a mere 1.5 pounds less than the macbook and at its thickest is only .19 inches slimmer. As a proud owner of a Macbook Air, do you think they are going to neglect pushing the envelope with this computer or will slowly blend its features with the Macbook to the point that the Air no longer exists. I found it interesting that they did not refresh the air nearly as much. The simple aesthetic of changing the track pad and changing the display would be reason enough to keep people interested. I am no expert on this stuff by any means, but I was just curious to see what people thought about how closely Apple's other portables resemble the Macbook Air.
