Cannot access 2TB MyBook on Macbook Pro

Hi Guys

I have a question that hopefully somebody can shed some light on for me. I have 2TB MyBook Essential HD. I used to be able to access it from my MacBook Pro but now when I plug it in it just comes up with WD Smartware and I cannot actually get to the files on the HD. When I plug it into my WD TV however I can still play all my files on there. Any help on accessing my files on my MacBook?
