Hi all, some help needed to access information on backup disk.
Two days ago I backed up my mac. I did it with it with carbon copy cloner - complete backup.
Today I did stupid mistake - erased all my emails (don't ask). I did it so well, that there is no trace of them on computer and or server (IMAP).
OK, no problem, I have a fresh backup, will just restore emails from it. I connect disk, open ~/Library and icon on Mail folder (and several other folders too) has red stop sign. I change permissions of that folder to me, double click and this folder is empty… no files, no folders, file inspector says 0kb used.
OK, if you don't want easy way, let's go hard way - I'll just boot from backup disk. I press Alt during boot, select my backup disk and kernel panic after ~10 seconds.
What are suggestions to get my mail back?
