cannot access google.ie and other google sites from iphone (from O2 in Ireland)

Hi there
Have an iPhone (carrier O2 in Ireland) about 2 weeks and cannot access main google.ie site. The screen is just blank.

Also have successfully loaded Google Apps but when I try to connect to Tasks, Mail or other parts of it, it opens a safari session but just opens up a blank screen while trying to access a specific url.

I have no problem accessing any other internet sites or applications.

I have contacted both O2 and Apple customer care about this but both are saying not their problem.

Any help appreciated.
