iPhone Cannot Always See Email Attachements?

Do you ever get emails but for somw reason you cannot see the attached file using the built in mail app?

Just now i got sent a contract as an pdf attachement and i can see that the email has an attachement by the tiny icon next to the preview but as soon as i open the email the attached file is no where to be found?

I have to open the browser and manually go to the website to view the attached file
