Alright, I'm at that pull-your-hair out stage in troubleshooting this. I have visited numerous sites instructing me on EXACTLY how to setup Time Machine so that it will backup to a network location. I've entered the right command in Terminal, I've connected to the share via the Go>Connect to server... command in Finder, I created a sparse bundle image and copied it to the share, and STILL the process fails. It gives me this: The backup disk image could not be mounted. I thought that by creating the sparse bundle image in Disk Utility, this wouldn't happen. I am connecting to the share via SMB as it is connected to a Windows computer (Windows is able to read the drive because I have special software installed that allows it to be).

I really have run out of ideas. I have done this before successfully, and I don't remember it ever being so much trouble.

Thanks!
