Cannot boot to DVD install disc

I did an archive and install about 2 months ago. I am pretty sure it was a bad install since then I have had nothing but problems. I cannot connect any hardware devices they will not mount. Cannot connect to interent via ethernet. I'm running 10.4.9. When I try to boot to my copy of Tiger my computer tries to read it then the tray pops out. Oh It's an G3 ibook dual usb 700 mhz meets all requirments to run tiger. I have tried to reset pmu, pram, ran fsck in single user mode, repaired permissions. Any suggestions?

Is the disk scratched that could be the problem.

I have tried 2 different copies of Tiger and confirmed that they both work on a different mac.
