Never tried before tonight but seeing as i have a heap of stuff on my eye tv250 i thought i'ld start putting them onto dvd.

Its meant to be simple, you select your program in eye tv, click on the toast icon and burn to dvd. It works ok picture wise but i never get any audio. Im totally at the end of my tether with it and thought i'd turn to the forums.

What am i doing wrong?

These are the settings it shows: before it burns.
VIDEO: MPEG-2 704 X 576, 25 fps
AUDIO: MPEG 1, Mono, 48000 Hz (English)

after its burned i've checked the settings on the dvd as it plays and it states:
Audio: MPEG 1
Channels: 1
Type: Unspecified.

also if it helps, when i click on MY DVD IN DEVICES it has 2 blue files in it. One is named VIDEO_TS (opening that file and it has 6 black icons named video_TS.IFO, video_TS.bup etc etc...) but clicking on the other blue file named AUDIO_TS (it is empty), not sure if this is relevant but just trying to give all the facts.

Would really appreciate some help guys on this as i don't know where to turn next?

AUDIO_TS is supposed to be empty, so there's no concern there (it's for DVD-A discs). While I can't help directly with your problem, Toast should have a File > Save Disk Image option which will let you test your encodes without wasting blank DVDs.

thanks, will try that in the morning as i have wasted about 6 dvds so far

What is the original format. In other words what is the source of the video ?

when i click on show stream info as its playing ok through my eye tv library it states:

VIDEO MPEG 2, 704 X 576
AUDIO MPEG 1, 48kHz, 192 kbps

Sorry I should have worded it better.

What are you recording ? Coax HD ?..S-Video?. Composite ? Over-The-Air ?

I know the older Eyetv's recorded in mpeg-2 format.

also. It's very important that you have the QT mpeg-2 codec installed. It can be purchased from Apple for a cheap price.

Hmm, I just tried to make one from my EyeTV Hybrid and I ended up with sound but no video! Interesting :p
