I have a 2010 Macbook Pro 13" with the glass screen and I just cannot clean it.

Using the lint free cloth, Glass cleaner with vinegar for a 'streak free shine' just leaves marks all over the screen of streaks and water isn't much better.

How on earth do I clean it? :(

I have excellent results using just a microfiber cloth dampened with tap water. Seeing how you tried that... what do you think is on your screen that isn't coming off. The screen is just glass, no different than any window in your house.

Not sure if the gloss screen has a coating on it or not though

I think its actually plexiglass.

I would try a mixture of 50% alcohol and 50% distilled water.
You will probably have to clean it a few times to remove the left chemicals from when you used glass cleaner on the screen.
