U.K.
I just got my Macbook Pro today. I cannot connect it or my iPhone to my Windows 7 Wireless Ad-Hoc network whenever I have any kind of security on it. If I have no authentication, they connect perfectly fine. As soon as I used WEP or WPA2 it says 'Connection failed'. If I try using my iPhone it says 'Unable to join the network "Network Name"'.

I tried sharing the Internet using the Macbook Pro instead. No surprise my iPhone connected just fine. The Windows 7 machine however said 'Windows was unable to connect to "Network Name"'.

Is there some kind of compatibility issue? The reason why I'm not using any other networking device e.g. routers and switches is because they're banned from campus. If anyone can find a way to work either way, sharing from Windows 7 or Macbook Pro then I'd be very happy although I'd much prefer Windows 7 since it is a desktop and will be stationary.

If all comes to worst then I just might have to spend some money on a switch and hide it somewhere.

Thanks.
