last week i bought a mac pro.. with the idea of video editing.. i cannot connect my panasonic pvgs 120 camera to this new computer.. i tried 2 different firewire cables.. called mac support.. no help!! when i go to imovie it does not recognize the camera.. here is the weird thing.. it worked 2-3 times already, but only by luck.. i know it is not the camera because i tried it on another mac and it worked perfectly fine!! another thing.. the firewire system profiler does not see the camera!!! what do i do!!! heeelp!!!

Trim back the plastic around the miniFW end that you connect to the camera so the connecter will sink deeper into the jack.

Turn cam off. Plug into computer. Turn cam on. Check System profiler for connection recognition.

That helped me once with a picky deck.
