Cannot connect to Internet for many websites.

I am using Mid 2010 Macbook running on El Capitan. When I am trying to connect to Internet I get following messages:

Err_connection_refused

On the same network my iPad and mobiles work fine. However I can open my Yahoo email. Kindly help me to resolve this problem.

unplug/replug your router, reboot your mac... see if anything changes.

1) Check time & date is correct on your Mac.
2) Restart router.
3) Ensure router wireless encryption is WPA2-PSK (may be called WPA2-AES) only. No mixed mode.
4) Restart Mac with reopen windows when logging back in disabled/unticked.
5) Run a malware scan, why not: https://www.malwarebytes.com/antimalware/mac/

[doublepost=1477045464][/doublepost]Thanks for your help. I am able to connect to all the websites without any problem now. I took your advice and ran the scan for malware. These were removed and the problem was resolved.
