Hi all, am new to MacRumors Forum so here goes...

I currently run at work an iMac 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 8GB, running the latest OSX 10.6.7, however because of the firewall at work I cannot connect to the new Mac App Store (not even to login with AppleID), therefore next month when OSX Lion is released i'm pretty screwed!

Only way around it seems to be that my IT folks want the website that the App Store links to, so they can unblock from the firewall which would then allow me to access. Any ideas? I've searched all around Apple's website but to no avail...

It's likely to be a port block as well as a URL block...

Getting things like this to work okay through a strict firewall can be a huge pain (I know because I manage one)...

Thanks Kelly. Managed to get my IT helpdesk to 'unblock' me from the App Store, only to find when I try to log in with my AppleID I get the 'connection failed' response. Great!!!
