I had enabled home group. Ensured that homegroup setup correct. Other Windows 7 pc can see one another but the Mac is unable to. I had made sure that printer and file sharing enabled on PC side with no firewall thing... but still no go. On Mac side I had select File sharing with Windows. Ideas?

Did you share correctly from Windows 7? Do you know that Windows 7 "HomeGroup" is Microsoft Windows 7 proprietary between only Windows 7 machines?
In Windows 7 you have yo use the "Advanced" sharing section in the Control panel to share with OS X or Linux.
