Hi,

My router gateway address is 192.168.1.254 and i can access it via my windows pc by keying in the ip address in IE/Firefox.

But when i try to do the same on my macbookpro, i cant connect.

Please kindly advise.

Thank you!

What browser(s) and what version(s) of it/them are you using to connect to the router?

What connection have you set up - wired or wireless - and has using the opposite connection helped?

its wireless connection.

Safari browser 4.0.5

Thanks!

really appreciate it!

Have you tried a wired connection then? Or have you tried it with Firefox? Or have you tried it with Chrome? Or have you tried it with Opera? Or have you tried it with Safari 5?

nope. i was wondering why i can access using parallels on my mbp wirelessly, but not on safari.

do not dare to update safari as my friends have lots of issues with the new safari

Copy and paste the address that doesn't work, and post it here.

URL auto-completion lead lead to things like the following:
http://www.192.168.1.254/
http://www.192.168.1.254.com/

Neither of these will work. You need it exactly like so:
http://192.168.1.254/
https://192.168.1.254/

Also, post the exact error message that appears in Safari (copy and paste it).

And other than being unable to connect to the router's web-server, are you able to access the internet using Safari?

Thank you so much chown33!!

I tried https and it finally works!!

Thanks so much to everyone here!
