Hi all,
So the other night I close the top to my macbook and when I come back the internet doesn't work. I'm in a dorm room so I go over to my roommate's desk and try his cable--still no luck (his computer, it turns out, works fine on both). So I go down to the dorm common area and connect to the wireless with no problems at all. I can browse without any issues. Frustrated, I walk back down to my room and after ten minutes of fussing around looking at internet settings, not actually changing anything, it works.
Flash forward to this morning. Same problem, when I'm plugged in, nothing with load. It just says "looking for www....." and I have no success in either firefox or safari. Now when I go to system prefs>network with the cable plugged in, I get a green light saying the eithernet is connected and I'm good to go. I'm running OSX 10.4.11 and everything is fully updated (other than safari).
Sorry for the long post, anybody have any ideas?
Thanks,
Jacob
