Wisconsin der hey
i cleaned up a floppy and deleted a whole bunch of files.

there is one (empty) folder in the trash that cannot be deleted because the "file is in use". this folder is only in the trash when the floppy is in.

i have tried restarting the computer and everything, but the folder is always in use.

is there a way to empty the trash bypassing the issue of in use files??

thanks for your help!
(it's the comp in my sig there)

How about erasing the floppy?

Copy the files you want save to your HD first, and then erase it:

So, insert it, select it on your desktop, and choose from the menu "Special" >> "Erase Disk" (eh.. must admit that I haven't used OS 8 for a long time, but I think those we the Finder menu names.. :))

thanks, i was kinda keeping that as my last resort because i kinda didn't want to do that if i didn't have to, but i'll give it a shot.

i was thinking maybe there was an alternate way if this were to happen again in the future
