Cannot delete files

Hi, I have been scanning photo's using a Canon Pixma MG 5250. In addition to the jpegs that I have imported into iPhoto, it appears to have created thousands of .tiff files, that I cannot move to trash. When I attempt that, I get a message:

The item “LI-88131434798349.tiff” can’t be moved to the Trash because it can’t be deleted.

As I say there are thousands of these and I would like to do a "class action"delete, as they appear to have consumed a huge amount of my storage!

Any help would be appreciated.

What are the permissions on the folder where these are stored? You might not have the correct permissions on the folder.

As a first step, try restarting your computer.

You can't empty the Trash or move a file to the Trash

Don't use iPhoto as a file manager to delete images from the camera.
After moving them to the hard drive by moving them from the camera to an event which imports them, you can right click > open in finder. Disclosing the folder they're in. You can use finder as normal to mass select and delete them. If you get a permission error, then go up a folder, select the map and change the permissions (and apply to all enclosed) and then try again.
