I am currently on Lion and in finder under "All My Files" there is a folder that i cannot delete or open. When I try to open or delete it it gives me a message stating "The alias “folder_name” can’t be opened because the original item can’t be found." then it gives me an option to fix or delete. I try to delete it but it is not letting me and an error occurs. Can anyone help me on getting rid of this folder.

Highlight the folder, and tell us where the location of the folder is, by pressing Command + i simultaneously.

Sounds like a bad symlink.

I did restart my macbook and it did not work. When I did command + i it doesn't state the location it just says "--"

I just repaired it and it does not let me delete it. I dont even know where on my computer it is located. It just appears in finder under "All my Files"

If you don't know what it is, and didn't create, often it's best to leave it alone. You can post a screenshot here of the folder if you wish, and it will give us some more clues, but it very likely isn't something you should delete.

This happens to me a lot in Lion. I end up just deleting it is forklift or pathfinder etc, without any problem and then it moves it to the trash. Sometime sit asks for the system pass.
