Cannot delete mail account!

I added my gmail account on my iPhone 6+ but I'm not receiving push emails so I was looking to delete the account and add it as an exchange account. The problem is when I attempt to delete it, my iPhone says "Deleting..." and the black swirling logo continues on and on without any effect. Then when I attempt to go back in the menu it crashes.

This is very frustrating. Has anybody here had this issue or know of another way to delete a mail account?
