When I try to remove the msn messenger from trash it gives me an error saying the MSN.Messenger.icns is in use. When I restore and try to open it, I can't because it says the file is corrupt...please help

Open up Terminal and type in the following command:

sudo rm -f

After the -f type a space and then drag the MSN Messenger icon into the terminal and press enter. That should force delete it.

To delete a folder:
sudo rm -rf

I got this error msg, still can't remove it entirely
rm: illegal option -- /
usage: rm [-f | -i] [-dPRrvW] file ...
unlink file

Just realized my mac won't let me force delete my uninstalled MS Office 2008 folder either. Getting the same error msg...please help
