Cannot drag songs from iTunes to Mail.app

I can drag a song out of iTunes and put it on the desktop just fine.

But if I try to drag a song into Mail.app, it just puts a 1k file that will not play.

If I want to email an MP3 (of my own songs, of course!) I have to "show in finder" and then drag it from there.

Is this normal?

What the F!

I know this sucks. You're not trippin. We used to be able to drag it right into the new message window. Any help on this. I know how to email a song. I'm just wondering why the downgrade.
