Cannot email - RELAY issue

I am unable to send email from my iphone, i get this message. 'A copy has been placed in your Outbox. The recipient "emailaddress.com" was rejected by the server because it does not allow relaying.

Also it doesn't seem to be working from my MAC saying

The server response was: The message contains an unauthorized custom from address because theassociated account has been disabled or deleted. Please revalidatethe custom from if you believe this to be in error. ft17sm4202779wjc.14 - gsmtp

If it happens on your Mac too, it may not be an iOS 8 issue.

I have had this problem on my iPhone. I think it ended up being a wrong port number in the mail settings.
