Cannot get native 1440x900 resolution

Hey guys. I just upgraded to snow leopard and after using it for a few days, the resolution on my external monitor got warped suddenly and now I can't change the resolution back to the native 1440x900 60Hz. Although there are other resolutions available, it doesn't look clear on the monitor. I would appreciate any answers given. Thanks. (By the way, it's connect by mini-dvi to VGA)
