Has anybody else managed to create a .cdr Disk Image from their installed DVD? There's nothing obviously wrong with mine just that Disk Utility stops half way thru the process of trying to create an image from the OSX Install DVD that came with my Unibody MBP

Turns out I had dirty media but in general I like to take a backup on any DVD media I get just in case.
Well good to know your fixed it. I was just curious why you were trying to back up to .cdr which is a CorelDRAW file extension.
It is also the extension used when selecting "CD/DVD Master" when copying a CD/DVD to a disk image.
