Hi

Need some friendly advise please

So I did a backup of OS X 10.7 to DVD for my new i5 Mac Mini and when I put in the DVD I got a message telling me

"This version of mac os x 10.7 cannot be installed on this computer"

Now I might be wrong, but I have a new Mac, it's made by Apple, but I cannot install 10.7 form a DVD. Is there any reason for this inconvenience because I really don't want to install 10.7 from the internet every time I do a clean install, and what about if I don't have an internet connection where I am or might be?

Hi wayne,
you have to have all these on your Install DVD.
I created a bootable USB as you can see here. I can install Lion from this:

There were special builds of 10.7 and 10.7.1 for the new minis and MBAs. If you got a stock App Store build from another computer, it won't work...

The latest version on the App store is now 10.7.2. That will work if you redownload it.
