Cannot install SL from Tiger. Help!

Desperate need for help...

when i insert the SL upgrade dvd (9.99 version), and i boot up from the dvd, i get this:

and i cannot select disk utility to wipe my drive. not sure what else to do.. ANY help would be appreciated!

The 9.99 disc only upgrades new Macs, you need a retail disc.

Er... I thought the Snow Leopard upgrade disc was only for people upgrading from Leopard?

Also, you need an Intel processor.

Someone feel free to tell me I'm totally wrong and thinking of something else, but I'm pretty sure you can't upgrade from Tiger to Snow Leopard with an upgrade disc.

i have a late 2007 intel mac, so that isnt the problem

also, i was told the 9.99 disk was the same as the $29 cd?
