My dad was given a MacBook 2,1 (2007?) that wouldn't boot up. I've formatted the drive and tried installing Snow Leopard 10.6.3 many times, however it keeps hanging with varying minutes till completion. I've also tried installing using an external dvd drive as well as installing on to an external HD, but it still keeps freezing and get the dreaded wheel of death!
The OS X is a brand new retail disc.
The repair disc feature doesn't find anything wrong with the hard drive.
I'm assuming this could be some other hardware issue as opposed to software, though have no idea what could be wrong?
Any advice would be appreciated thanks.
