Cannot move desktop icons?

Hi all.

I am trying to move my desktop icons around my screen but it appears as if they are locked.

Know of anyway I could ''unlock them'' and move them around to sit where I want them to.

What operating system (version) are you using on your computer? That can make a difference when answering your question.

I run Leopard OS

Go to the View menu while in Finder and check View Options. You may have your icons set to Arrange By: Snap to Grid. Set it to none, try rearranging your icons.

Cannot move desktop icons here, too

Hi...I hope you can help me, as well. For some reason, which I am unable to fathom, I am unable to move my desktop icons. I am running Mac OS X 10.5.8.

I was able to move them around last week, but now that's just not the case. Can you help? Thanks so much in advance.
