Cannot open pdf files in safari

I've installed adobe reader and I don't have any adobe internet plug-ins to delete which appears to have solved a number of other users experiencing this problem.
Can anyone help!!!

Do you have another browser w/adobe and try open with it? Might be the file/folder and not the browser.

I prefer to download pdf files and open with Preview. It's too slow opening them in Safari.
