hi, I have a problem. I exported my project into mov file with fcp 6.0.4
Problem is I cannot open it other computers (both pc and mac) that don't have fcp. Now I'm on vacation and I don't have mac in daily use. How can I solve this problem? any ideas?

Error says briefly quictime cannot understand this type .

You may have used a codec, that is used by FCP but not by the normal QT Player, like Apple Intermediate or ProRes or .....

Maybe upgrading to QT Pro might help, but I don't know about that.

.mov is only a container like .avi btw.,
the codec is the one that makes problems with other PCs, when the proper codec is not installed.

There are a few codecs that only come w/FCP such as HDV, XDCAM HD/EX, DVCPro and ProRes (although a ProRes reader is available as a separate download). You just need to export in a codec that comes as part of the standard QT install (which is most of them).

thanks for all replies, I'm gonna export in other formats after the vacation.
