Cannot Pair iPhone 3GS with Macbook

I just recently jailbroke my iphone 3GS with Spirit, and I am trying to pair my phone with my macbook running snow leopard in order to be able to enable bluetooth tethering via MyWi. When i try to pair the iphone, my macbook is able to see the iphone, and says that the PIN number should be showing up on my iphone's screen, but it never does. Also, when i go into the bluetooth settings on my iphone it isn't able to find my macbook which is set to discoverable. Could this be a problem with the jailbreak or am I doing something wrong? Any help is greatly appreciated
