iPod touch Cannot pinpoint my position (3G touch)

On my home, and friends network my ipod cannot find where I am at. However at school it can find me very accurately. How do I make this work?

positioning depends on your access point having it's location known to a central server. there's a company you can contact to give it your router's MAC address, IIRC, but offhand I can't remember the name.
