Cannot play an .mpg file

Hello

I have a .mpg file that shows the Quicktime icon, but when I try to watch it I get this error.

The Document ********.mpg could not be opened. The movie is not in a format that QuickTime understands.

mplayerx works as well i think.

Try dwnld VLC it plays everything --- If it still will not play it may be corrupt / missing data

If you're partial to Quicktime, the plugin Perian is a must have. Whenever I set someones mac up for them I always install that and Flip4Mac. Flip4Mac is good for those odd times you get a Microsoft movie, usually in an email from an aunt or something.
