Hi all,

I have wiped my 2016 MBP HDD and something has gone wrong in the process. This has lead to internet recovery but from here, I keep getting an error when trying to re-install macOS Sierra on the system.
The error: “An error occured while preparing the installation. Try running application again.”
I have tried multiple times, disconnected/reconnected to the internet, shut down & also done a PRAM reset. Still no luck!
Anyone know the answer here? Super frustrating!!

If you boot to internet recovery:
Command-OPTION-R

... seems to me that you will get offered the OS installer that installs the most recent version of the OS...? Should be newer than 10.12 Low Sierra.

There's also a SPECIAL VERSION of internet recovery you can try:
Command-SHIFT-OPTION-R

... that will offer you the earliest (original) version of the OS that shipped with the MBP you have.
