Cannot record voicegreeting or use voice command help please

when i try to record acustom voice greeting it goes into record mode and i say my greeting and everything but it dosnt record it plays back nothing but statick tried restarting and restoring several times also in voice command app i try to record a greeting and when i record iT does its thing and says"You have said "" and comes up statick.. but yet in a phone call microphone works ppl can here me.. had this problm before jailbreaking . has anyone else had this problem and know a fix? software or hardware is there a fix please help me...................... also some ppl say there is a echo in a phone call any reasons or fixes for both these problems..
