Ok. so i have a macbook pro, running on leopard.(i think, dont know if its leopard or snow leopard).
Anyway, when i try to reinstall, i put the retail leopard disc in, pressed install mac osx, and pressed restart. Then it will just be stuck in the white screen forever! i tried pressing the option key, but it only shows Macinsosh HD and not the leopard disc.
taking it back to apple store is not an option for me, the warranty expired just months ago.

please help me reinstall my macbookpro.

Do ya have a windows install disk around somewhere? or even a linux one? You should try to boot one of those up and see if they work just as a test to see if you mac disk is messed up or your dvd drive.

vista disc=boot successfully.
leopard disc=freezes when i choose the leopard disc.

ok. so i borrowed a snow leopard from a friend. and now i get this error after wiping the drive and installing snow leopard

"the installer could not copy the necessary support files"
