Hi MacRumors Community,
First post and first time moving between major iOS updates.
I was able to successfully revert back to 7.1.2 on my iPhone 5 after having discovered a few problems with iOS 8 on the device. I used an iTunes backup to do so and everything went smoothly.
Tried iOS 8 on my girlfriend's iPod Touch 5th Gen, but found it to be pretty "laggy" overall, so decided to try to revert back to 7.1.2. Unfortunately, stupid me, I didn't have an iTunes stored backup for her; just an iCloud backup.
When I go to restore the 7.1.2 backup via iCloud on the initial setup screen, I get an error saying simply "Cannot Restore Backup". She's only got two recent backups for 7.1.2 stored on iCloud, but both give the same error.
Any ideas on anything else I can try?
Saw a thread somewhere saying to set it right next to the WiFi router, but that didn't work for me.
