Hi, can someone please help me! I use a WD 2tb external hard drive. It is partitioned. One half for time machine and the other half as NTFS file system for movies, pics etc. It has been working perfectly fine for the last year.

However the other day I was watching a movie directly off this hard drive and I accidentally pulled out the usb cable without ejecting the drive. It did come up with some pop up error screens, which I hate to admit but I closed without reading. Unfortunately since then the "downloads" folder (the folder that had the movie I was watching) has disappeared. Everything else is still there. Both partitions are fine, all my other music, pics, documents etc are still there and accessible. Just that "downloads" folder is gone. I know its still there because the "used capacity" shows me that those video files are still on the drive.

So these are the things I have tried so far

1. Turned on show hidden files- nothing
2. Did a finder search - nothing
3. Did a verify disk- comes up with no problems
4. Does not let me do a repair disk, says I should backup and reformat
5. Installed WD2Turbo - nothing
6. Ran a data recovery program (Data Rescue 3) unfortunately it only recovered like 20 odd files, so basically didn't help.

Is there anything else I can try before I have to force myself to deal with the fact that all the video files are gone?
