I've been searching the internet but without real success.
I bought an external Apple DVD Drive and hooked it up on my MacMini. My issue is that I cannot see or access the DVD from my MacBook Air.
I can access the MacMini from the MacBook without any problems, but I cannot get it to show the Remote DVD icon in the MacBooks finder.

Any suggestions?

Pardon me for probably asking a stupid question, but,

Why don't you just plug the USB DVD drive into the MacBook Air?

Did you activate DVD/CD drive sharing under System Prefs > Sharing on the Mac mini?

Yes.
I've read in another forum that USB devices cannot be shared. I do not want to believe that, as I'm sharing the USB Printer without problems....

If that's the case I will have to reiterate Alex's suggestion, "Why don't you just plug the USB DVD drive into the MacBook Air?"

So I just tried it and I can see the USB connected DVD drive through Remote Disc on my Mac mini server.

Can you check if you can see the DVD drive on the Macbook when it's hooked to the MacMini?

I have a mac mini server and iMac. Machines like the mini server amd Macbook Air that have no ODD don't have the option under Sharing pref pane to share drives to other machines.

Any suggestions?

Open Finder Preferences window (it's in the 'Finder' menu of the Finder)
Is the checkbox to "Show CDs,DVDs,and iPods on the desktop" checked?
