I installed the new (0.7.3) version of PithHelmet this morning.

I cannot actually “see” my Keychain – all my passwords are still working via Safari and Camino, but I am unable to see the Keychain Window.

Whenever I try to “Show Keychains” from the Menu Bar or “New Window” from the File Menu, I get the following error -

“An unexpected error has occurred that may cause Keychain to malfunction. You may want to quit the Keychain application.

Error: *** -[NSCFString boolValue]: selector not recognized”

Repaired permissions using Disk Utility and repaired the Keychain permissions. When I repaired the Keychain permissions the first time, there were some issues with my mail (POP and IMAP using Entourage) and those were repaired.

Please help!

FWIW, I'd installed the same version of PithHelmet, and now I see the same Keychain problem. Might have been there before, might not. If I find a fix, I'll post here.

Others: you might want to beware the latest PithHelmet upgrade until we can be sure that either (a) it didn't cause the problem, or (b) there's a fix.

Note: restoring old keychain files from backup does not fix this issue.

Edit: Might be an issue with home->Library->Preferences->com.apple.keychainaccess.plist. Investigating.

Edit: Nope. Restore of all prefs didn't help here.

There is no problem at all with the keychains themselves.

However, Keychain Access seems royally screwed. No idea why. Doesn't even quit properly.

Help, anyone?

He fixed it!

Mike Solomon, the developer, just emailed me that it was fixed ... and it is!
