Hi,
I have an iMac and a Macbook. Sometimes I like to transfer files between them via firewire.
It used to be that once you hook up the firewire, on the right hand side of your finder, under the tab "shared" you see all the computer on the network. In this case, I should see my macbook from my imac.
However, I run into 2 problems.
1. On my macbook, I can see my imac, and I can log into my imac no problem. But I cannot see my macbook from my imac. Why is that? I used to be able to see my macbook though.
2. Sometimes when I hook up the firewire, I can see that mac os x acknowledges the firewire when I see it under "system preferences -->network" I can see the firewire. However, when I want to transfer files, the mac os x seems to acknowledge internet sharing as higher priority, and try to send files over the internet. Obviously I'd want the OS to use firewire since it's a lot faster.
Hope this is clear.
Thank you very much for your time!
