cannot sync photos mac to iphone 3.0

after the update to v3.0 cannot longer update iphone with mac pics
there is no option under pictures to sync with a folder of my choice
all i see are option from iPhoto libraries or projects
did v3.0 changed this ?
if it did is there an alternative to move pics of my choice to iphone
the iphone still have my close to 100 pics on nicely organized folders but did not recognized i have added some new pics to those folder in the mac
