I have my brand new iPhone 4 and after getting through the yellow spots and reception issue, the only problem I have now is syncing photos to the iPhone. Every time I try and sync some subfolders from the Pictures folder it doesn't do anything and gets stuck on 'syncing' in iTunes. It doesn't even start optimising photos and I always have to cancel the sync manually. Never had this problem before on the iPhone 3g/iOS3. Please help!

I have a similar problem. My iPhone has an endless sync if I try to sync photos to my iPhone. If I delete the iPod Photo Cache folder it will optimize and sync the first time. But every sync there after turns into an endless sync. This has happened since I have owned this 3G iPhone. I have tried deleting the iPod Photo Cache folder and that works for the first sync but that gets old fast. It has been several iTunes versions and several iOS versions. Problem still there. If it matters I don't have this problem on my wife's first gen iPhone.

I did actually manage to get it working by deleting the ipod photo cache folder in My Pictures and any subfolders which also had ipod photo cache. I think it had something to do with the fact that my old iPhone 3g created the original cache folder and it wasn't compatible with the iPhone 4. Anyway, hope it stays like this!

Solving iPhoto sync issues on iPhone iOS4.0.1

I've been having trouble of syncing my iPhone with my previous windows 7.
It's coming back to haunt me again for the first time since I used Mac OS.
And that was after I updated to iOS4.0.1
I found a solution and it worked so far.

Try to go to iPhoto Library in Pictures.
Then click show content.
and try to delete "iPod Photo cache" folder there.
hope it helps

a few ideas

I had trouble syncing videos from my iPhone 3gs to my new iPhone 4.

Here's a few things to try:
1) try syncing a few photos at a time. Trying to sync 50 videos would consistently fail. Syncing them 10 at a time worked.

2) You can change your .mov -> mp4... be careful on the settings.

iPhone 4 supports MPEG-4 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats;

The free tool doesn't default to 640x480, so you may need to set that as a custom size. To avoid crashes, try to run in batch runs less than 40.

For non-MOV source formats, I've seen this recommended, as it has presets for I devices:

Wow, I was looking for exactly this piece of software to help me figure out my oly form, thanks for sharing.

Haven't seen this for a long time, there are still so many sharewares. The ts converter can convert ts, mts , m2ts, mxf video files to compatible with your devices. ts converter
