Cannot tether my iPad to my iPhone 3gs

Hello there I am new to this website and I must say i like it a lot since it already has helped me with tons of stuff. I can't seem to get mywi to work on my 3GS, at the bottom of the application it shows me "connecting" but then it goes to "retrying connection" then it just fails. My ipad version is 3.1.2 and the iPhone is 4.0.1. I'm not sure if mywi is not compatble with the iphone version or if I'm just doing something wrong. Any help would be appreciated.cheers!!!

Did you upgrade to MyWi 4.3.4 or so when you upgraded your phone to 4.01? If not you will need to.

I have MyWi 4.3.4 working on my iPhone 3GS 4.01 to act as a wifi hotspot for my ipad 3.2.1. Works as expected.

Also don't forget that the WiFi must be ON on your phone.
