Cannot Type Texts or Emails After Upgrade to iOS7

Endured the 4 hour process of upgrading my iPad and iPhone to iOS7. Now, on the iPhone, I cannot type any messages into the Text or Email applications. The cursor/keyboard immediately freezes up and on occasion the characters actually will appear after an insanely long delay. After several reboots, the problem persists.

I should have waited before taking the plunge.

Popped over to the iOS7 forum and others had this issue also. After a 'Settings' reset, all of the typing issues have ceased for now.
