When I hit the update button, strangely, it asks for my iCloud account password which is very weird since this is not a new app, anyway, I'd enter my password, then it would say updating and the updating ends immediately, then if I hit the update again, it says updating, then asks for the password again, and so on.....

happens with all apps, so what I have to do now, is delete the app, then install it fresh again to get the latest version

this is very annoying, anyone getting this?

I would suggest the next time you have to update any app, do it thru iTunes (update first on iTunes then sync), sometimes this sort of thing gets fixed when you sync via iTunes.
