cannot update apps on my account

PLEASE HELP ME

I bought a used Iphone 3gs that was jailbroken, it works perfectly fine except for when i have to update an app. when i go to the app store to update apps the previous owners itunes username comes up instead of mine and i cannot log into my own to update all of my apps.
how do I fix this?

i have that problem as well sometimes, ive used my same account on my iPhones or the last 2 years.. However, many moons ago, i bought the first gen iPod touch. I used a different account for that but somehow it still wants to sync that every once and a while, ive used both my accounts on the iPhone to get apps i want off of both but it does it at very random times. Another oddity that has been occuring is when i try to update my TomTom, iMovie, Taptalk Pro apps it has told me for at least the last month that "these items are being modified" and refuses to update. I have restored several times but have yet to set up as a new phone. will give that a try and see what goes down. good luck with your problems.
