The right side of my Late 2008 UniBody MacBook trackpad does not click. It used to click. Now, it takes a few clicks to “make it loose” and then it clicks. What could be the issue? Thanks.

Also, I have noticed that the trackpad makes a “loose glass” noise sometimes. Almost like the glass is becoming loose from the trackpad.

I've been having a similar problem where the trackpad is unresponsive in the right and middle. Quick, normal clicks don't work; I have to hold it down for a few more moment before it registers. It just recently started doing this, so I wonder if it's due to a software problem?

A reinstall would be the only way to test if it's software or not.

Take the battery cover off and then the battery out. There you will see a screw and you can tighten this screw to make the trackpad tighter. This could be the issue.
NOTE: turn the screw very slow and little at a time.

Sorry to bring this thread back up, but I thought I would update you guys. I finally went over to the Genius Bar. It turned out to be the tension screw that got loose. They tightened it up and all is well. Thanks for the help!
